I have been in terrible Courtyard Marriott’s. And I travel for work.
The hotel I work at, used to be a Marriott which was converted to DoubleTree 2 months ago. DT is known for buying old hotels and slapping their logo on it. I remember staying at a DoubleTree in Des Moines which you can obviously tell it used to be a Wingate by Wyndham.
You lost me at Westin in S tier. As an airline pilot, I stay in lots of hotels and I’ve been in many Westins. They’re mediocre hotels. I put them below the Hyatt Regencys and Intercontinentals of the world. I don’t see how you can compare Westin hotels to the likes of Ritz-Carleton and Waldorf Astoria. Consistently one of my least favorite hotel brands we stay at.
Embassy Suites shoult be in B
The Hampton Inn in Hendersonville is insanely nice. Has a nice office with a computer and the room is very nice and slightly mountain-y because it’s in a mountain town. Definitely an A for that specific one. Breakfast is also amazing.
Courtyard as A tier?? They are b at most. And where’s park Hyatt?
The Homewood suites in Portland were definitely B tier. Higher quality than Tru.
Grand Hyatt is def not the same as Courtyard, even price points
The thing I don't like about Days Inn is that they're starting to employ check in kiosks that aren't even self check in. You have to talk to somebody in a call center to check in while there's somebody right there at the counter.
I’m not sure how I feel about the Drury take despite never staying there. Literally every rating for all Drury hotel locations on Google have at least a 4.5 star rating. May not be the fanciest hotel in the world. But, it definitely doesn’t look like a F tier rating. Overall though, good video with interesting takes!
you forgot howard johnson
Yeah, it is pronounced "La Keenta"
Ok so fun suggestion, Ethan. This ranking order is overall correct for hotels East of the Mississippi.
The Categories B and below become completely different when you go West.
For example, Best Western jumps to a straight B. Why? Because they are Best….in the West! It’s what they do!
Same for Quality Inn, Drury, Comfort etc…they all get Bs and Cs. Give it a try, and have your mind blown.
This man must be rich assuming we all have the money for a Hampton inn. No way I’m paying 150 to stay in the middle of a cornfield in illinois
There’s a hotel flower garden too!
I love a Holiday Inn Express. Very clean. Not a single smell. White cotton bedsheets. It seems to be like a hypoallergenic hotel. Marriott had down feathers in its comforters . Holiday Inn Express is like a hotel for people with allergies.
SHOCKED at your DoubleTree rating! I would have thought B
I think holiday inn should be B. They have nice rooms and reasonable pricing. Also I have gone there a lot and they have always been very clean.
Most of the S class hotels only have Black and White theme color.
Drury as an F??? The one in Pittsburgh is the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed at??????
I agree but would move Hyatt regency and Crowne plaza up one
I would move Westin down to A, Hilton and Hyatt Regency up to A, Sheraton up to B, Double Tree up to C.
Update: Currently staying at a Homewood Suites. Deserves its D lol
